Our 2012 season started at THRUXTON with a lunch to celebrate the ‘End of Winter’.  Clive Rustin, who lives nearby, was unable to attend the day but owner Henry Pelham was delighted to welcome the Squadron at our opening event.  28 guests attended and Squadron Members and their guests turned out in 12 aircraft with the rest coming by road.   All the usual suspects were there (Arrow, RV6, Tobago, Shadow, Bonanza, Jodel).  It was great to welcome a few we do not see very often such as Hughes 500, Mooney etc.  A couple of aircraft from the Midlands area got fogged in with delays or even had to abandon the flight which was a great shame.  (More details in the next BUZZ magazine).  The newly refurbished Restaurant overlooking the airfield provided us with a lovely lunch for which our thanks go to Mark Young and Donna.  Our thanks go to the whole Thruxton team for making us feel so welcome.
