GUERNSEY RALLY
SEPTEMBER 11TH

Large chunks of IMC prevented many from attending this years rally , neverthe-less Doc Holliday and Carol got through the Friday fog (by comair), followed by a Bonanza full of Bonham Cozenses and Moores in windy sunshine on Saturday. Bucks Fizz, a delicious lunch and an Irish band set the scene as we were warmly welcomed by Colin Ferbrache in his splendid clubhouse whilst waving to the airliners as they taxied past under the balcony.

The medieval Ball was a great success with Doc(Once a night) and Carol (Bath night) winning the fancy dress prize. ‘King’ Phil was somehow commandeered to present a wide range of rally prizes and a great time was had by all.

Sunday morning saw a somewhat early departure by the slightly bleary Bonanza boys and girls but Colin was there to see us off with Rally gifts of flowers and brollies. Although only being on the island for less than 24 hours for this our first Guernsey Rally, Sue and I were most impressed by the overwhelming hospitality and brilliant atmosphere. We are determined to enjoy the whole event next year including the French bit, why not put it in your diary now.
The Squadron members who attended the Rally were Michael and Julie Bonham Cozens, Doc Holliday, Carol Frappell, Colin and Val Ferbrache and Mike Tidd.

Report by Phil Moore.
