The Squadron's fifth annual dinner, the first to be held at Arrow Mill, was without doubt a highly enjoyable occasion for the forty two attendees.

'Them what's keen gets fed in previous' my old gunnery officer used to say so Sue and I arrived at Wellsbourne pm Friday by Auster from Lee enjoying the unbelievable luxury of a Helo transfer by Denis to his delightful hotel.We were just in front of Colin and Val Ferbrache in their Commander 114 from Guernsey who later that evening joined in with us and a few other roadborne squadron stalwarts for a most pleasant rehearsal, dining amongst exposed beams on fine food to a hilarious fusillade of squadron stories.

Saturday eased in to welcome more aerial arrivals at Bideford: from Bodmin Roger & Carol Richardson Bunbury and Philip Cardew in the mighty 182, Dave Mackay in his diminutive Cessna 120 and Tony & Jill Ashmead in their pretty Pulsar. The day sped on in a blur of high G gliding, high speed motorcycling and a severial thinning out of the local clay pigeon population.

The dinner itself set new standards of squadron excellence which will be hard to match. We were entertained by Robin Morton who told us how Concorde was fettled, Norman Britton who told us how Concorde was flown, Carol Bunbury who thanked us for being the 'Wright Stuff' and Denis Woodhams who as usual had us all in fits of laughter.

Lt Col Bruce Bright USMC came all the way from Okinawa to give a very moving and much appreciated update from the Anglo/US front line in Afganistan making us even prouder to have him as a squadron member. All was presided over in fine style by our Commanding Officer Michael Bonham Cozens who took the opportunity to award Denis Stanley honorary membership. A commemorative shield was presented to Denis by Anne Lovegrove.
