THE THIRD ANNUAL DINNER

SATURDAY 20th NOVEMBER 1999

The Squadron held its third annual dinner in Salisbury at the Grasmere House Hotel. Earlier in the day there had been an informal gathering at Old Sarum airfield on the opposite side of the city, where some of the members flew in, and where there was lunch in the clubhouse. A number of members were able to enjoy flights in Mike Smith's Robinson R44 helicopter, and others, including Cmdr. Dennis White had a first flight in a microlight, flying with members of the Old Sarum Flying Club.

The Dinner was attended by thirty four members and wives and the principal guest and speaker was Rear Admiral Iain Henderson, Flag Officer Naval Aviation, who was accompanied by his wife Ros.

The Admiral gave an inspiring talk about the future of Naval Aviation and of "jointery" following the Defence Review.
