This much looked forward to event was held once again from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th June.

Again the R44 of Mike Smith made full use of the H at the Arrow Mill Hotel near Alcester from Friday onwards and many flights were enjoyed by Squadron members and their wives over the week-end, thanks to the generosity of Mike Smith. The David Baddams family arrived by road from Yeovilton and Denis Stanley by Minimax G-MZCS from Kemble on Friday.

Although Saturday dawned with an overcast sky and low cloud it duly cleared , when the first aircraft to arrive was flown into Bidford airfield by John Eatwell in Streak Shadow G-BTEL. Leo Baker unfortunately only made it as far as Gloucester, and Phil Cardew and Roger Richardson Bunbury had a starter problem at Bodmin and were forced to cancel. Tony and Jill Ashmead came by road as did Peter Lovegrove. Phil and Sue Moore landed in their much travelled Auster G-ASZE , Arthur Record in his Mistral G- MVSJ from York, Michael and Eve Bonham Cozens accompanied by Julie, their daughter, and Jan Dobree-Carey came in the capacious Bonanza B36 G-MAPR from Henstridge, and Brian Cornes (a guest) in a Pitts S2 G-KITI from Colerne. Ron Dobree-Carey intended to fly up from Henstridge in his Kittiwake G-BBRN but unfortunately the brakes were locked solid.

Michael Bonham Cozens very kindly came to the rescue and returned to pick him up. Michael Ryan and daughter Julia called in by road and returned again by air from Shobdon on Sunday in a C152. Will Hynett, son of Maurice flew in, in a Yak 52 for a quick visit, but was around long enough for David Baddams and Denis Woodhams to borrow it for a short aerobatic session.

On Sunday the ladies went off with Margaret Woodhams to explore Stratford on Avon whilst the aviation enthusiasts went over to Bidford to fly in the J3 Cub, the Tiger Moth, the Pitts Special and the R's 22 and 44. Graham and Judy Pitchfork flew in, in a Cessna 140 from Kemble.

A roast beef lunch was enjoyed by thirty guests in the hotel, after which everyone dispersed to all points of the compass.
